Commercial solar

Commercial solar energy for UK businesses

We help businesses lower electricity bills by making and using more of their own power on site. We handle everything from survey to install, keep disruption low, and tailor each system to how your business actually uses energy day to day.

Take back control

Why invest in solar panels for your business?

In an unstable energy market, where fluctuating energy costs are becoming an ever-increasing concern for business owners, many are realising that having solar installed lets them take back control and bring a degree of energy certainty into their business.

Typical commercial figures (as a guide): many businesses use systems from 30kW to 250kW, often use 60–80% of the power on site, and see electricity cost reductions of around 20–50% depending on operating hours and usage profile. Payback is often in the 4–8 year range.

Energy generated on-site is exempt from infrastructure charges and green energy levies, which currently make up around 40% of energy bills. The energy your system generates reduces your demand from the grid — cutting spiralling energy costs — while also reducing your carbon footprint and protecting you from further increases in green taxes and other rising commodity costs.

Storing electricity on-site through battery energy storage systems (BESS) gives you another supply to use when needed, discharged at peak times or out of hours. Using solar power also demonstrates your commitment to better environmental choices and can form part of your CSR strategy.

How it works

How solar power generates electricity

Solar power is one of the fastest-growing sources of new energy worldwide, and for good reason. It’s generated from PV (photovoltaic) panels: when the sun shines onto a panel, energy from the sunlight is absorbed by the PV cells within it.

This energy creates an electrical charge that moves in response to an internal electrical field, and it’s this process that causes electricity to flow. When using solar, you become less reliant on the national grid and less affected by its price increases.
